  • The best front line advice is always have a spare pack of insulin in the fridge, spare needles, testing equipment and batteries. Try not to become complacent schedule a beginning of the month check in your diary to ensure you have everything  you could require for 2 months
  • Always rotate insulin stock moving old stock to the front of the fridge and put the new stock to the back
  • Get into the habit of checking dates before injection. An out of date insulin will not kill you if injected but will not give the guaranteed result with the patients glucose control, activity of the insulin will be reduced
